For the Preservation and Growth of the Culture of Japanese Cuisine
The purpose of our association is to cultivate and improve upon a strong restaurant industry, as well as to improve the diet of the Japanese people for the growth and advancement of the culture of Japanese Cuisine. We aim to do so by valuing the history and traditions of Japanese Cuisine, contributing to its succession and continuity, passing on its core values (such as table etiquette, manners and authentic flavors etc.) and further developing these values by improving our facilities and cultivating human resources. Additionally, it is our mission to contribute to the promotion of tourism in Japan by aiding tourists, both domestic and foreign, in fully experiencing the wonders of the culture of Japanese cuisine.
The Stability of Businesses
To Support the Stability of Businesses
We provide comprehensive training for people of all positions by conducting business owner seminars, management seminars and chef seminars etc. in order to support the stability of restaurant businesses. Our various branches across the country also provide training that target the needs of their respective areas.
Public Relations Activities
For the Sharing of Information
It is our goal to share the latest information on facilities, equipment and food within the restaurant industry by holding various conventions such as the International Hotel and Restaurant Show (HOTERES JAPAN) and the International Food and Beverage Exhibition. We also participate in other information-sharing activities such as the spreading of information regarding food ingredients, kitchen appliances and other related equipment created by our supporting members.
Tradition and Innovation
For the Preservation and Growth of the Culture of Japanese Cuisine
We have participated in the planning of the International Washoku Show hosted by the General Incorporated Association Japan Management Association with the aim of broadcasting the culture of Japanese cuisine, a culture that is full of history, tradition and sophistication, to the world. We have delegated the owners, famous chefs and culinary professionals of our member businesses as seminar lecturers, and have also dispatched said lecturers to locations all across the country at the request of local chefs.
Public-Private Activities
To Promote Tourism
We have worked towards attracting foreign tourists to Japan and improving the reception they receive by coordinating with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation and the Japan Tourism Agency. We have also participated in the Tourism Nation Promotion Conference and its activities in order to improve international exchange and understanding.
The Research of Food
To Find Valuable Restaurant Management Information Both Within and Outside Japan
We have acquired valuable information from many different areas through interaction with local parties during our study tours both within and outside Japan.
Contributing to Society Through Food
For the Preservation and Growth of Our Country's Exceptional Food Culture
As a means to increase public awareness about dietary education and as a part of our community service business, we have been hosting a ""parent-and-child food tasting workshop"" every summer which targets children of the next generation. It is the mission of each of our association members to pass on the table etiquette, manners, history, tradition and knowledge of the culture of Japanese Cuisine that they possess to our priceless children and help them experience, taste and learn the true greatness of food and safe ingredients, in order to preserve and pass on the culture of Japanese Cuisine to future generations.
Cultivating the Next Generation
For the Cultivation of Our Successors
We aim to create a place of learning for our new young business owners, and improve upon their capacities as young businessmen and businesswomen through mutual interaction between members, for the succession and progress of our businesses. We continue to promote the activities of the association's youth department in order to protect, reform and develop our culture of Japanese Cuisine which is full of history and tradition.
