It’s been more than 40 years since Kakiden was founded in Shinjuku to bring Japanese tea culture, embodying the beauty of Japanese culture, and the authentic “Cha-Kaiseki” flavor.
The “Kakiden” characters in the store name were written by Nobel Prize-winning writer Yasunari Kawabate, and the store was designed by Professor Yoshiro Taniguchi who also worked on the Crown Prince’s Palace, the Japanese reception hall and Teikoku Theatre. We trust you will achieve true satisfaction, enjoying “Kaiseki” cuisine while experiencing the very best of Japanese tea room architecture.
There will also be a gallery called"Kakiden" in the basement floor, where you can view the exhibitions of crafts and paintings by contemporary artists from across the nation.
